My Grandson Asher Cicenas 2009 20 X 24 Acrylic Painted Fall 2009 by: G.Boyd Mullns Owned by: Callie Cicenas

ABOUT THE ARTIST Gina Boyd-Mullins My creative talent began in 1996 after I received the Baptism of The Holy Spirit, then “I prayed to somehow be a blessing to HIM and The Lord said, “I Want You To Paint”. That was all He asked of me. It took me a few days to understand; not knowing what else to do I chose to go shopping for art supplies. I bought a few canvases and some watercolor paper and paints, came home and began to experiment, with amazing results. All the credit must go God, for it’s by HIS Grace that these paintings exist.” Kentucky has been my home since 1993 when Crash and I married. We now own and operate Crash’s Landing, Inc., a Retail / Professional Fishing Guide Service here at Cave Run Lake, KY., est. 1998.

I dedicate "Almost Home" to my Grandmother who passed away in the Winter of 2004, after suffering several years from Alzheimer's Disease. Initially, I had set out to capture the memories she & I had shared when she taught me to Ginseng as a young girl....back in the woods, cool and dark we'd top the ridge as the sunlight would bathe us in it's warmth and she would say to me, "We're Almost Home". My mind often drifted to how unfair and cruel this disease was as we kept praying for her body to be healed & restored, but eventually I had a breakthrough in my Prayer life in which I could actually pray for Mamaw to go on home to be with God. You see, I had never prayed for another to leave this world, it just felt wrong to me at the time, but, I came to "know" that letting her go "home" was the most precious gift that I could ask. Mamaw died before I completed this painting.
